POSITION: Business Development Manager
Salary Scale: £24-£28k depending on experience, with Company Car
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The BDM Manager has responsibility for:
This role is to dual manage sales across two hotels reporting in to two General Managers with objectives from each
Targeted acquisition and retention of new business
Developing key strategic relationships in multiple sectors
Managing Local/National/Regional and Global accounts as requested
Maintaining client relationships
Creating a high revenue yield through occupancy/rate
Development and implementation of strategic sales plans wherever required
Co-ordinate PR and Marketing opportunities
Travel as and when required to include client visits, meetings, training, conferences, tradeshows &events
REPORTS TO: General Managers and Director of Sales
Experience Requirements: A minimum of 2 years sales experience within the hospitality industry is preferred. Self motivated with a passion to close business.

GENERAL
Source, Identify and convert new business/contacts to impact the hotel in the corporate and meetings sector
Accurately identifies the level of influence, decision-making power of contacts in the customer organisation, and uses these to secure business
To establish and manage sales systems to enable leads to proactively sourced and reacted to in a timely manner
To negotiate rate agreements with tender account customers
Establishes and maintain effective and positive relationships with key internal and external customers
Keeps information relating to customer requirements, interests and market activities up to date?
Identifies customer base to determine new opportunities for account penetration
Liaises with DOS to review the effectiveness of sales activates
Focus on maximising business from non-preferred clients booking within the market place
To work and support the Conference & Events team to deliver hotels C&E annual budget through agreed activities
A minimum of 10 face-to-face client appointments per week
Maintains an understanding and acceptance of the monthly budgets and a motivation to achieving these
To attend relevant sales meetings and training as required.
To action new sales initiatives introduced to the department, e.g. trough periods.
To organise client hospitality events, i.e. open days, familiarisation trips.
To conduct professional show-rounds of hotel facilities
To produce accurate statistical report sheets by set deadlines
